The clips are from the last three outs of the game. Legendary Cubs announcer Jack Brickhouse does commentary for the game. Pappas misses having a perfect game by walking Outfielder Larry Stahl with two outs in the ninth inning but finishes the no hitter shortly afterwards. Pappas, his fellow teammates, and a slew of fans pile onto the pitcher's mound and celebrate his victory. 06:45 Fade to black screen. 06:52 Quick cut to a shot of Chicago Cubs rookie pitcher Burt Hooton, who had a no hitter against the Philadelphia Phillies in his first start in the 1972 season. Jack Brickhouse and guest commentator, Cubs legend, Fergie Jenkins, describe the events that unfold. 08:47 Fade to black screen. 08:57 Pitcher Ken Holtzman faces baseball legend Hank Aaron in hopes of a no hitter. Brickhouse describe the events that take place. It is a tense moment at Wrigley Field. However, Hotlzman gets the job done when Aaron grounds out to second baseman Glenn Beckert. 13:24 Cut to black screen. 13:38 Quick cut to a clip of Holtzman going for his second no-hitter against the Cincinnati Reds in June of 1971 at Riverfront Stadium. Holtzman goes up against first Baseman Lee May of the Reds. Brickhouse does commentary for the game. Holtzman pulls through and strikes out May for the win. Even Cincinnati fans are impressed by Holtzman's performance and give him a standing ovation. 17:31 Cut to black screen. 17:33 Quick cut to a shot of Ernie Banks during one of his first at bats in the 1970 season. At the beginning of the season, Banks was three home runs shy of the 500 home run mark. The following three clips document his 498th, 499th, and 500th home run. Banks has his 500th at Wrigley Field in May of 1970 against the Atlanta Braves. Jack Brickhouse does commentary and gives a rallying cry of his trademark slogan "Hey-hey" as Banks reaches the milestone. 21:18 Fade to black screen. 21:29 Quick cut to a shot of Chicago Cubs Pitcher Don Cardwell on the verge of having a no hitter against the St. Louis Cardinals at Wrigley Field on May 15, 1960. In front of a packed house and at a 3-2 count, Cardinals batter Bill Cunningham hits a line drive into left field only to be caught by Cubs Outfielder Walt Moryn. The crowd goes wild and proceeds to dash onto the field. Cardwell is surrounded by a sea of fans as he is interviewed by Cubs radio announcer Vince Lloyd about his memorable win. We follow the Hawks as they take the Bruins into overtime and win to take a 2-1 series lead. Rangers. We follow the Hawks as they take the game into overtime. In the blink of an eye, Hawks legend Bobby Hull makes the game winning goal immediately after coming out of a face off. Glenbard West and St. Laurence go into overtime in an exciting thriller. We follow both teams as the score see-saws back and forth throughout the game. We follow both teams as they battle for the championship. Proviso East comes out on top in the end winning 61-56. 53:46 Fade to black screen. 53:59 Cut to the championship game between Thornridge and Oak Lawn at the 1971 Illinois State Basketball Tournament.
