Documentary about the death of Fred Hampton, chairman of the Illinois Black Panther Party. The film started out as a simple portrait of Hampton and features lots of footage of his powerful speeches. However, in 1969, Hampton was murdered in his bed at the Panther headquarters by the Chicago police. The event was extremely controversial as the police and the Black Panthers told drastically different versions of the events. The film became instrumental in proving the Panthers’ story that the police broke in to headquarters without warning and killed Hampton without resistance.
Footage taped off TV of the program “Two on Two,” featuring reports on cable tv and on Puerto Rico. Followed by other off air footage related to the Chicago blizzard of 1979.
The first half of the tape is explanatory, then the second half is more like a movie trailer. This tape is advertising the video game, but the creation of the real thing is the ultimate goal for the future.
Raw footage for the award-winning series The 90’s.
Interviews with Keoki Kaialau on the Hawaiian Island of Oahu. Raw footage for “None of the Above,” a documentary on non-voters in the 1996 presidential election.
