    Studs’ Place: Shakespeare

    “Shakespeare,” an episode of “Studs’ Place,” revolves around an old theatre actor named Mr. Lord who is planning to have dinner with an ex-pupil at the restaurant. The ex-pupil, David Frome, is now a famous movie actor, and is now too important to see his old mentor. Meanwhile Nancy, a high school student with dreams of becoming an actress, hopes to meet Frome, but is disheartened by his disregard for others, and ends up connecting with Lord instead. Also features musical performances by Chet and Win.

    “Bowling,” an episode of “Studs’ Place,” has Studs, Chet, and Willie trying to tell Win that he’s been kicked off their bowling team. All the while, Studs has to get himself out of an obligation with his wife to go to a dance. Studs finds an ingenious way to restore Win’s hurt feelings and go to the dance, but his plan backfires on him. The episode also features a musical performance by Win.

    Holiday episode of “Studs’ Place.” The episode, “Arthritis,” focuses on themes of charity and deceit. The episode begins with Studs confusion about the pile of solicitations he receives in the mail every holiday season. Studs receives $52 from his Christmas Savings Fund. He saved $1 every week for the year so he’d have money for gifts during the holiday season. He plans to buy a phonograph. Sparky, a friend of Chet’s, enters the restaurant, and, coincidentally, needs $50 to get to New York City. The episode ends with a twist.
