In January 2009, about 200 of Studs’ close friends came to the Chicago Cultural Center to tell their favorite Studs stories and jokes and to remember his life and work.     This tape features a ten minute edited version of the Studs Terkel memorial service that took place on January 30, 2009 at the Chicago Cultural Center. The video offers a brief summary of the night, highlighting some of the stand-out moments of the event. Nearly five hundred people gathered to honor Terkel’s memory.
