Byrne is just finding out that she may have won the democratic primary for Mayor of Chicago, defeating incumbent Mayor Bilandic. She watches TV and talks about the havoc handshaking has wrought on her nails and jewelry. Her husband talks about preparing meals so she’d be well fed when she got home. After her victory seems certain, she organizes her family and supporters and speaks to her campaign staff. When she’s won, the media struggle to get close to her.

  1. how wonderful to see roman “pooch” punchinski on da tv. what happened to great politicans like pooch… politicians who knew how to make money and bring “home the bacon” to da people in da ward. and romans cold war rants were fabulous- he could really get americans to give him money. i miss him, tho he is long dead. but he is not forgotten. who could forget him.
