[Making It In Hollywood raw #20]

Raw footage for the 1976 documentary "Making It In Hollywood," which follows several actors as they attempt to break into the movie business. Footage from one of actress Sally Kirkland's "press" parties. Various people from the "Making It" crew interview several actors and show business people about struggling in Hollywood. Those interviewed include writer/director James Bridges, actor Robert Ginty, and actor John Belushi.

00:00Copy video clip URL Tape opens in the garden, where Sally Kirkland is interviewing writer and director James Bridges, one of the guests of her party. “Making it” director Frank Cavestani and Bridges talk about the decision to direct rather than act, the lack of acting work for women, and whether or not parties are useful for meeting people, among other topics about actors and movies. Near the end of the interview, Bridges gives an interesting account of how directors go about casting. Kirkland thinks that if she got her nose straightened, she would get leading parts.
