This tape features raw footage for the documentary "None of the Above," an in depth ethnographic look at non voters in the U.S. We watch as the videomakers spend time with non-voter Frank RePass and his family at their home in New Orleans.

00:00Copy video clip URL This tape begins with footage of Tom Weinberg and Skip Blumberg testing camera equipment in their hotel room in New Orleans. The two videomakers, along with John Callaway, travel to the home of the RePass family to interview Frank about his choice not to take part in the voting process.

04:02Copy video clip URL Cut to a shot of Frank in his home. He talks about his love for his home. Weinberg takes advantage of some of the effects on his camera. Frank eventually begins to talk about his views on television and why he decided to suspend his cable service throughout many portions of the year. This lasts for several minutes.

08:28Copy video clip URL Frank talks about the most important aspects of his life and his neighborhood. He goes on to talk about the state of the country and the American political process. He expresses his disdain for those who run for office. He gives a list of reasons for not voting. Frank goes on to talk about his past voting habits.

He begins by talking about the current state of the country and what direction it may be headed in. Frank eventually lays out four basic reasons why he doesn’t vote. He states that he doesn’t like most of the individuals who run for office because of their pompous and power hungry practices. He cites the lack of truth in the political realm as a reason and labels it as hypocritical. Frank also emphasizes that his non vote should be taken seriously by those in office and expresses his disdain for the electoral process. Frank talks about his past voting habits as well. This lasts for a good portion of the tape.

51:48Copy video clip URL Weinberg speaks with a number of church goers after Mass. The music director speaks with Weinberg about Frank RePass’ character.

54:00Copy video clip URL Back at the RePass home, Frank shows the videomakers a number of family photos. Frank also talks about his political views in greater detail. This lasts for the remainder of the tape.
