Dr. Quentin Young was a Chicago-based activist for healthcare reform, desegregation, and other important issues throughout his life. He served as chairman of medicine at Cook County Hospital during the historic 18-day HSA strike in 1975, where he frequently butted heads with the hospital’s governing body over public health equality.
