Join Media Burn, Chicago Film Archives, Chicago Film Society, and the Chicago Park District for a special evening celebrating Humboldt Park history. Curated by Dalina A. Perdomo Álvarez and Raul Benitez, this collection of archival, found, and home movie footage explores the neighborhood and highlights the people, places, and events that have shaped Humboldt Park through the years.

Bring your blankets and snacks and join us on one of the last nights of summer for some movies under the stars!

“Too Late For Me” aired on Image Union in 1979. William Avelo’s film was produced, written, shot, acted, and edited entirely by students at Roberto Clemente High School. It is a cautionary tale about street gangs in Humboldt Park, Chicago. Check out the full film here.

It will screen alongside other Humboldt Park footage from different eras, including our 1978 footage of Puerto Rican nationalists.
