This tape features raw footage for the documentary “None of the Above,” an in depth ethnographic look at non voters in the U.S. We watch as the videomakers spend time with non-voter Frank RePass and his family at their home in New Orleans.
Raw tape of Minnie Minoso playing shuffleboard with Tom Weinberg at the Sarasota Motor Hotel in Florida for “Inside Spring Training.” They start to make small talk, such as some basic questions about Minoso’s background. We also get some aerial b-roll footage. Towards the end, Minoso becomes more confessional about his career and future plans.
Raw footage of Los Angeles examining the up and coming area of Los Feliz on Vermont Avenue. Cameraman Skip Blumberg focusing many of his questions on the recession. Also features an accidental run-in with Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Footage collected outside of Congressman Daniel Rostenkowski’s vacated office at 818 W. Fullerton. Rostenkowski was indicted on corruption charges and forced to step down in the mid-nineties. After this portion of the tape, there is about an hour’s worth of raw footage of the videomaker’s son, Jesse Weinberg, collecting interviews for a documentary on teenage smoking.
Raw video from inside the Chicago Police Department’s 18th District station after protesters at Jane Byrne’s Cabrini Green Easter celebration were arrested. The video features a group of lawyers speaking with police officers in order to get their facts straight. The last four minutes of video feature a short segment of the Jesse White Tumblers and a short segment from a street festival.
Interview with former football player Bill Wade, the quarterback for the Bears’ 1963 Championship team. Wade, standing in a suit and tie across from his current place of work, comments on the 1985 Chicago Bears team and offers his thoughts on the philosophy of football, staying in shape, and his time on the Bears. Following the interview are clips from the Bears’ historic 1963 season. Shot for the documentary Once A Star.
