    [Voices of Cabrini raw: buildings footage – redevelopment plans]

    Footage for the documentary “Voices of Cabrini.” Shot between 1995-1999, it documented the Cabrini Green redevelopment project proposed and carried out by the City of Chicago. This video features shots of newly-constructed town homes on Mohawk Avenue, poster board presentations from several private redevelopment contractors, and b-roll video shot in the Cabrini community on the Sedwick buildings parking lot and in front of the Cabrini row houses on Hudson Avenue.

    This tape features footage gathered for the documentary “Voices of Cabrini.” Filmed between 1995-1999, the footage documents the Cabrini Green redevelopment project proposed and carried through by the city of Chicago. This video features interviews with urban planners Yittayih Zelalem and Patricia A. Wright, and an interview with the chair of the Coalition to Protect Public Housing, Wardell Yotaghan.

    Raw video shot for “Voices of Cabrini.” Shot between 1995-1999, it documented the Cabrini Green redevelopment project proposed and carried out by the City of Chicago. This video features preparations for a large pro-resident rally and then a failed meeting with city officials in Near North High School. The crowd gets rowdy and makes it difficult for David Tkac and Adrian Bryant to address them. Tkac compares photographs of the Cabrini-Green intersections with sketches of proposed redevelopment for the intersections. Also in the video are interviews with journalists and residents.

The video features preparations for a large pro-resident rally and then a failed meeting with city officials in Near North High School. The demonstrators walk to the high school, but the potential meeting between them, Jesse White, and Alderman Walter Burnett goes awry when the crowd becomes too incensed.

    Footage for the documentary “Voices of Cabrini.” Shot between 1995-1999, it documented the Cabrini Green redevelopment project proposed and carried out by the city of Chicago. This video features an interview with George Robbins in his barbershop and then a town hall meeting between residents and the city on April 1, 1996.
