That is the most pressing problem in America.” He goes on to talk about the dissatisfaction of American voters, and criticizes the media. “The press to me are a group of entertainers and so they’re the ultimate entertainers of America. So it’s really unfortunate that you want entertainment. Someone comes along with substance you’ll say well, they don’t have charisma… you constantly criticize them. That’s what the American press does.” Stamets then debates Daley about the media presenting only entertainment. Daley gets a little perturbed about the issue.

A staff member speaks with a news reporter about Tsongas’ run for President. “We got to Illinois very late and with very few resources, but we were able to convert a lot of people in a very short time. Paul Tsongas is not someone whose message can be understood in thirty second sound bites… but when people hear Paul Tsongas’ message, they respond to it… Unfortunately in politics these days, money is what it takes to stay in the game. We’ve got money, we got momentum, and we’ve got the message.” The staff member thanks those involved with Tsongas’ good showing in the primary. A CBS news reporter speaks with the same representative about Tsongas’s good showing for the remainder of the tape.
