Media Burn + Yollocalli videos, plus join us Thursday

For the last year, Media Burn has been collaborating with Yollocalli Arts Reach, a youth arts program of the National Museum of Mexican Art, located in the Little Village neighborhood of Chicago. The “Chicago Slices” project has enabled youth artists to use our videos to create new works of multimedia art. It’s been a fantastic process that has really expanded the use and reach of our videos into new territories.

Check out this fun video that Yollo created introducing the students and their projects!

Funding for this project was made possible by Hive Chicago.

We’re thrilled to be participating in the Alternative Histories, Alternative Archives symposium hosted by Video Data Bank at Co-Prosperity Sphere in Bridgeport. The day will be a time to reflect on the role of alternative archives, with a keynote speech from Josh McPhee of Interference Archives in New York. We will be presenting on the panel “The Archive as Artists’ Source,” and talking about our collaborations with Yollocalli and On The Real Film.

The event is free and open to the public, and includes breakfast and lunch! If you’d like to attend, please rsvp
