  Skip Blumberg shoots a party that is celebrating the release of Dierdre Boyle’s new book, “Guerrilla Television Revisited.” We talk to the old friends, like Ira Schneider and Parry Teasdale. Other New School University faculty are there, including Paul Ryan and Sumita Chakravarty. We hear about video people who could not attend, like Nam June Paik, who was currently recovering from a stroke, and Nancy Cain. When Skip hands off the camera to give a toast, the person who takes it is chastised for looking through the viewfinder.

  Raw footage of improvised comedic scenes shot for (but mostly not used in) TVTV Goes To The Super Bowl, a documentary about the events and personalities surrounding Super Bowl X in Miami between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Dallas Cowboys. This tape features Christopher Guest, Bill Murray, Brian Murray, and Harold Ramis.

  Produced by video pioneers TVTV, this video won the prestigious Columbia-duPont award for documentaries. It explores the mystery of Guru Maharaj Ji, the sixteen-year-old leader of a cult-like new age group, the Divine Light Mission (DLM), known to his followers as “The Lord of the Universe.” The video investigates the Guru’s opulent living conditions and the secrecy surrounding his teachings, as well as portraying the dissolution of the 1960s counterculture towards the close of the Vietnam War. It chronicles a gathering of his followers at Houston’s Astrodome in 1974 as they wait for its promised levitation, and features interviews with devotee Rennie Davis and skeptic Abbie Hoffman.
