  This tape is a raw interview shot for “Chicago Slices.” Valjean McLenighan interviews her mother and godmother, Wanda McLenighan and Lilian Bender. The two women, who have been friends since 1914, travel to their old neighborhood and talk about their childhood growing up in the Ukranian Village. Wanda and Lilian go on to visit the schools that they attended during their childhood and teenage years. Later in the video, the three women eat lunch at a Polish restaurant.

  This tape is a raw interview shot for “Chicago Slices.” Valjean McLenighan interviews her mother and godmother, Wanda McLenighan and Lilian Bender. The two women, who have been friends since 1914, have just finished eating lunch at the Podhalanka Restaurant. They eventually make their way over to Valjean’s home to admire her garden. Valjean also talks with the women about their lives growing up in Chicago.

  Raw footage for “Chicago Slices,” a series documenting life in and around Chicago. This video features a watermelon vendor working out of the back of a truck on Madison Street on the West Side of Chicago. This is followed by a visit to a small storefront church where the Rutledge sisters, two young girls, sing Gospel music with incredible talent and spirit. They are accompanied by a pianist and drummer and a few tambourine players in the audience. The girls are interviewed, as well.
