    [The 90’s raw: Midnight Mission and Asylum]

    This tape features raw footage for the award-winning series “The 90’s.” Videomakers Jody Procter and Judith Binder visit Midnight Mission, a soup kitchen and advocate for the poor in Los Angeles. They interview employees about how the meals are prepared, and speak with a few of the patrons about their situations. However, their main focus is the food, and most of the tape concerns the process of making and serving it. In contrast, Procter and Binder visit Asylum, an extremely upscale restaurant. The owner talks about his influences, the cuisine, and the decor. They also talk to the pastry chef and bread baker and watch the head chef, Guy Leroy, prepare an unusual salmon dish.

Then, Becker goes on the Scandal Tour of Washington, a comedy tour that takes people on a bus to locations where scandals have occurred, while impersonating historical figures.

He also interviews mothers in their apartments and Central Park about their reasons for choosing to use cloth diapers and this service (their reasons were mostly environmental).

    Episode 201 of the award-winning TV series The 90’s. This episode is called “TV CULTURE AND HOW IT AFFECTS WORLD VIEWS” and features the following segments:

    Raw footage for the award-winning series The 90’s. The first few minutes of the tape are footage of comedy called Scandal Tour that tours Washington DC. They give bus tours and act out parts of famous politicians. In this segment, a continuation from a previous tape, people imitate Vice President Dan Quayle and his wife, Marilyn. (Continuation of Tape #25). The second half of the tape is audio of Becker telling an anecdote about an experience he had meeting nuns who were trying to alleviate famine in Ethiopia.
