[The 90’s raw: Money Man monument]

Raw footage for the award-winning series The 90's. No sound for the first 19 minutes. A satirical piece conceived by Doug Michels featuring a mock meeting of fundraisers for the Money Man Monument, a skeleton in a suit placed in a plastic tube of money on Washington D.C.'s Mall--"a permanent tribute to green power and the American Way." This tape has multiple takes of the actors performing.

00:00Copy video clip URL The tape begins with a shot of a man dressed in business attire practicing certain actions for the piece. Producers can be seen in the shot as they prepare for the performance. There is no audio for this part of the tape. This lasts for a good portion of the video.

19:04Copy video clip URL As the sound cuts back in, producer Tom Weinberg gives actor Tony Judge a pep talk before they actually shoot the piece. Shortly afterwards, Judge begins his performance.

20:51Copy video clip URL Judge begins the piece by taking on the first couple of lines. He does numerous takes. He describes the “Money Man Monument” as a “permanent monument to green power and the American way.” Judge continues to run the piece as quickly and as effectively as he can. Weinberg directs in the background. This lasts for several minutes.

30:21Copy video clip URL About halfway through the piece, Judge states that the monument would be ready to unveil in 1992 and that it would become an important monument and National treasure. The tape cuts out briefly afterwards.

32:11Copy video clip URL Judge begins to run through the piece one more time, this time addressing two men as he rolls through the piece. He and the crew go through numerous takes before getting it just right.

39:56Copy video clip URL Cut to a shot of a drawing of the monument. A large skeleton in a suit stands inside of a large glass case waist deep in cash and coins. The actors and crew wait to start the next take. This lasts for several minutes.

47:23Copy video clip URL Judge does another take, but this time with a close up shot. The audio cuts in and out throughout this portion of the tape. The tape ends shortly afterwards.
