Though most of the tape consists of Vito sitting at his desk or walking through the halls, it does catch a few hushed conversations about business deals and proof of the patronage system at work in Chicago.

He gives his description of Marzullo’s character and shares his dislike of Marzullo both personally and politically. Despres also gives a concise description the political institution known informally as the “Chicago Machine” and how it operates.
